How is the view from the top? From the peak it can often be foggy, treacherous, unclear, and down right scary. Successful leaders know however, that they are not the only ones with a view and they realize that they can only see so far. They are not afraid to ask questions and challenge their leadership view with the collective vision of many others in an organization. Vision: what is foreseen or anticipated – the big picture, is made much broader, deeper and more clear with insight from others. That is not to imply that the decision is deferred, but augmented by what others may provide as insights and different perspectives. Visionary leaders understand the decision-making process requires seeking input from others and then understanding when to make decisions.
